We have witnessed the immense growth of OTT platforms during and after the Covid period. The producers too were willing to buy their movies for OTT platforms directly as they were unsure about how the theatres would run after the lockdown. The OTTs offered huge money to the producers. The OTT business grew wonderfully and this escalated the budgets along with the remunerations of the heroes.

But the OTT platforms changed their route once people got addicted to them. They are not buying movies for huge rates. Even movies with good combinations are finding it tough to get a fancy offer from OTT officials. A lot of movies have stopped midway due to this and there are many examples of it.

But movies that did well in theatres are sure to get good money for their digital rights. Ironically, it is not the case with a recent hit flick. The OTT platforms are not ready to give the rate that the producer is expecting. It is none other than 'Manjummel Boys' which is creating ripples across South India. The movie's OTT business is yet to be done and people are finding it amusing.

This flick was made on a budget of 14 crores and it crossed the 100 crore mark already. It is running with houseful boards even in its third week in Kerala. The producer reportedly is quoting 20 crores for the digital streaming rights while the OTT officials are willing to pay only half of it. With none of the OTT platforms giving the money he expected, the producer is reportedly staying silent for now.
