A major controversy is making rounds on social media involving actor Dhanush, his manager Sreyas Srinivasan, and Wunderbar Films. It all started after television actress Manya Anand’s interview surfaced on the Cineulagam YouTube channel. In the video, Manya alleged that she was asked to “adjust” (Commitment in exchange for a role) in connection with a Dhanush film. She claimed that a man named Sreyas, who introduced himself as part of Dhanush’s team, contacted her about a script. Manya said she immediately told him, “If they are choosing an artist not just for acting but for something else as well, then I'm not interested". That's not the full story, however.
With the video clip spiraling into millions of views across various social media platforms, the actress is quick to clarify through her Instagram story. The actress urged fans to watch the full interview rather than a short clip and not come to conclusions. She clarified that he's an impostor who was talking under the name of "Sreyas Srinivasan". The impostor is said to have allegedly asked Manya, saying, “There is commitment (adjustment)", to which she replied, "What commitment? Why should I give any commitment?". She said she clearly refused, but the man reportedly asked, You will not comply even if it’s Dhanush sir? Manya added that despite her firm refusal, she was contacted multiple times and even sent the location of Dhanush’s production house. Now that she stated that all this came from an impostor, Dhanush's manager, Sreyas's previous clarification is also doing the rounds.
Earlier in February this year, Sreyas clarified, along with an official press note that someone is trying to reach out to wannabe actors and actresses under his name, and using his social media pictures, and issued an alert. Now, Manya Anand also reached out to Dhanush's office, sharing the number of the impostor with them, and expected that they would take care of such fake people. Anyway, the TV serial artist's video stirred a lot of chatter online. Fans started debating, sharing opinions, and questioning how these situations happen. Soon after, Manya put out a clarification herself, saying she wanted the facts to be known but didn’t want anyone unfairly targeted. Beware of impostors, folks!
