Director Maruti had the biggest release of his career in the form of Raja Saab, which has Prabhas in the lead role and the film released in theatres on January 9 on the occasion of Sankranti.
Director Maruthi shared an emotional and reflective note about The Raja Saab, responding to the trolling and criticism surrounding the film.
He said people often forget that what they watch for three hours is the result of nearly three years of relentless effort, stress, learning, and creative struggle. When such work is casually mocked or reduced to jokes on social media, it hurts, even if creators choose to stay silent.
Maruthi added that trolling is not something he fears or reacts to immediately. According to him, nature has its own way of balancing things. At some point in the future, those who mock others will face moments where they question why life feels difficult for them, without realizing that their own actions once contributed to that cycle. He clarified that this is not a curse or a threat, but simply how life works.
He also felt that the audience watched the film in a festive mood, expecting light entertainment, which may have prevented them from fully connecting with the deeper layers of the story. Maruthi believes that if the film had released at a different time, the climax in particular would have sparked far more discussion and appreciation.
Ending on a calm note, he said time always gives clarity, and honest work eventually finds its space, even if it takes longer than expected.
