Megastar Defends His Decision On Remakes!
A lot of people have expressed their displeasure over Chiranjeevi selecting this film.
The pre-release event of Megastar Chiranjeevi's upcoming commercial entertainer 'Bholaa Shankar' was held on Sunday and it was a grand affair. The entire team was present and a lot of them sang laurels about the legendary actor. Megastar took the microphone at last and spoke for over thirty-eight minutes. He praised every team member and said it was lovely working with Keerthy Suresh who will be seen as his sister in the movie.
As we know, Megastar has been selecting remakes a lot and many fans are not at all happy about it. 'Bholaa Shankar' is also a remake of 'Vedhalam' which came back in 2015. A lot of moviegoers say that the original itself is heavily inspired from NTR's 'Ooseravelli' which came in 2011. A lot of people have expressed their displeasure over Chiranjeevi selecting this film.
During the pre-release event, Chiranjeevi backed his decision of doing remakes. He said, "I did 'Bholaa Shankar' because I liked it and in the hope that you [the audience] will also like it. What I don't understand is that many are asking me why I have been doing remakes. If there's strong content and directors and actors are taking the opportunity to bring it to the Telugu people, what is so wrong in doing so? After the advent of the OTT platform, people are exposed to films of different genres. Hence, people ask the need for doing a remake in the world of OTT. However, 'Vedalam' is not available on any OTT platform. That gave us the confidence to do the film."
Also, the promotional content of this film did not bring a lot of positive buzz on the movie. The trailer failed to pack a punch and the songs did not turn out to be chartbusters as well. With Meher Ramesh being the director, everyone is waiting for the talk to come out before booking their tickets in advance
