Biggest Lesson To Mohanlal From This Film’s Result

Hailed as the most consistent star of the present day, Malayalam star Mohanlal has won lots of appreciation for choosing to do films like Lucifer on one side, then the likes of Thudarum on the other side. However, this appreciation won’t turn into a box office blessing all the time, and that’s what 2025 taught in the end.
As 2025 wound down, Mohanlal made his presence felt at the box office for the fourth time in the year with the movie Vrishaba. A big-budget VFX-laced fantasy movie, the film is said to have cost more than ₹80 crores in budget and the actor also expected to score huge with it.
The lacklustre content of Vrishaba hasn’t impressed any, and the film’s word of mouth turned out to be very poor than expected. Released on Christmas Eve (Dec 25), the film failed to capitalise on the weekend holidays and ended up collecting a meagre ₹2 crores in six days. The biggest lesson that Vrishaba teaches is that it’s the content that works, and stardom doesn’t matter, whether that is Mohanlal or anyone else.
The audience who have showered huge applause on Thudarum and other box office hits in 2025, aren’t even talking about Vrishaba, thus ending up the film as a complete washout.
