More than the big films, the Tollywood box office has witnessed a lot of small films hitting the screens in October. There were some films which did not have any recognizable actor. While some films were highly promoted, they failed to deliver the same kind of performance at the ticket windows. In the first week of October, movies like 'Month of Madhu', 'Rules Ranjann' and 'Maaya Mascheendra' came out.

Also, Siddharth's emotional drama 'Chinna' too arrived in theatres. Sithara Entertainments banner came up with 'MAD' featuring all fresh faces. Muttiah Muralidharan's biopic titled '800' too released in limited screens across the Telugu states. Among all of them, it is 'MAD' which got good collections and got positive reviews as well. 'Chinna' too received a lot of critical acclaim but did not bring people to the theatres.

The rest of the films failed badly and did not recover at least half the investment. The next week, movies like 'Naathone Nenu', 'Taantrikam' and 'Rakshasa Kavyam' came out in theatres. Jayam Ravi's film with Nayanthara too released during the same weekend. But none of these movies impressed the audience. The Dasara weekend had three big releases and the euphoria was seen near the theatres.

Balakrishna's 'Bhagavanth Kesari', Vijay's 'Leo' and Ravi Teja's 'Tiger Nageswara Rao' competed with each other. Both 'Leo' and 'Tiger Nageswara Rao' garnered negative talk on the first day. While the hype on 'Leo' propelled the film to recover from the bad talk and give profits to the buyers, Ravi Teja's film failed to do so.

On the other hand, Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Bhagavanth Kesari' became a big commercial success. It crossed the breakeven mark in all the areas successfully and emerged as the Dasara winner. The fourth week did not have any notable releases. The one film which arrived in theatres was 'Martin Luther King' featuring Sampoornesh Babu in the title role. The movie did not get the anticipated response from the audience. On the whole, the month of October is filled with a lot of failures and a handful of hits.
