People usually go to the departmental stores for big discounts. There are no discounts in regular Kirana shops but big marts and malls offer discounts which attract the audience. Now, even movie producers are resorting to such schemes and strategies to attract the crowd. Especially, the latest three releases have one of the other offer to bring the audience to theatres. Vijay Antony's 'Love Guru' is planning tours to Malaysia, Kashmir and Ooty for people who won the lucky dip after watching their movie.

'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' which was made with 300 crores is also having a 1+1 offer running on BookMyShow. The negative talk impacted the movie heavily. 'Maidan' is getting a lot of appreciation from the critics but the audience are not arriving to the theatres. That is why the makers kept 1+1 ticket offer for this film too. It is working out for both these films as the trade report suggests the bookings have increased by a bit. Buyers are saying that the situation would have been worse had these offers not come into application.

This trend is going to continue for the upcoming films too. This kind of offer is not new in Bollywood but giving away foreign tours to viewers is something we haven't heard in the past decade or two. This is a good way to attract people towards a movie that has low buzz. Free tickets, giving snacks at discounts and a reduction of prizes for group bookings are some plans the buyers and exhibitors are planning to bring in to lure the viewers. Despite all these, movies like 'Tillu Square' and 'Manjummel Boys' are collecting more in theatres.
