For the last few years, Mythri Movie Makers has been one of the most aggressive production houses in Telugu cinema. From delivering massive commercial hits to backing some of the biggest pan-India projects, the banner has become a dominant force in Tollywood. With Peddi’s release today, they have shown their full potential as producers, distributors, and exhibitor as well.

After strengthening their position in Tollywood, it looks like Mythri is quietly building an exciting Tamil lineup with three major stars at once. They have already made their Tamil debut big with Ajith’s movie, and that earned them lots of profits too. Now, the latest buzz indicates that the combination of Dhanush–Siruthai Siva, Simbu–Keerthiswaran, and Sivakarthikeyan–Jagan Shakti were almost locked by Mythri Movie Makers. If all three projects materialise, it would be one of the biggest expansion moves by a Telugu production house into Kollywood.

Interestingly, this comes at a time when Mythri is already handling some of the most anticipated Telugu films in the country. After Peddi’s release, the production house has Prabhas’s Fauzi lined up for a massive release. Next year, they have Jr NTR’s Dragon hitting the screens. The scale just becomes bigger for Mythri Movies every year, and if they expand into Bollywood as well, as planned, surely it’s going to be a great crossover athlete-like performance only.

A few years ago, Telugu banners were largely focused on their home market. Today, production houses like Mythri, Dil Raju and even People Media Factory are thinking much bigger. If Telugu production houses can grow like Dharma Productions or YRF, planting their flag across tinsel towns, that’s a great moment for the Telugu people too.
