Love stories are not just films for Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, they are almost a family tradition. From his grandfather Akkineni Nageswara Rao to his father Nagarjuna, romance has been the heartbeat of their cinematic legacy. Now, after completing 16 years in his own career, Chay openly admits that he wants directors to come to him with love tales that carry beauty, innocence, and timeless appeal.

His journey began with Josh, but it was Ye Maaya Chesave that etched his name in the romance genre. Hits like 100% Love, Manam, Premam, and later Majili only cemented his image as someone who breathes naturally into romantic characters. Even though the current trend is more about action, fantasy, and world-building, Chaitanya feels the audience still craves heartfelt stories that remind them of family bonds and first love.

Interestingly, he is balancing both worlds. While his latest project with Karthik Dandu is an ambitious mythological adventure steeped in fantasy, his heart seems to still tilt toward simple yet strong narratives of love. He believes that one successful love story can echo longer in people’s memories than multiple high-budget spectacles.

And so, instead of ending with a routine “what’s next,” here’s the essence, Naga Chaitanya isn’t chasing trends, he’s chasing emotions. For him, cinema works only when hearts connect, and that is why he continues to nudge filmmakers with one request: “If you have a love story, bring it to me first.”
