Naga Vamsi Reveals How He Prepared Everyone for Premam Telugu Remake

Producer Naga Vamsi recently shared an interesting story about how he planned and prepared everyone for the Telugu remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Premam. He explained how the idea started and how he convinced director Chandoo Mondeti and actor Naga Chaitanya to be part of the project.

Naga Vamsi said that producer Nallamala Bujji was the first person who asked him to watch the Malayalam film Premam. After watching the movie, Naga Vamsi was deeply impressed by it. Like many other viewers, he also loved the film.

After watching Premam, Naga Vamsi started thinking about making a Telugu version of the film. However, he knew that remaking such a popular movie would be a difficult task. The original film had already created a strong fan base, so the Telugu version had to be handled carefully.

Later, during the time of Dochey, Naga Vamsi met actor Naga Chaitanya. Around the same period, director Chandoo Mondeti had delivered a successful film with Karthikeya. Naga Vamsi felt that Chandoo could understand the story and bring it to Telugu audiences in a fresh way.

However, he was initially hesitant to approach Chandoo with the remake idea. Chandoo was already working on another script, so Naga Vamsi waited for the right opportunity. When they discussed movies, Naga Vamsi asked Chandoo to watch Premam once.

After Chandoo watched the Malayalam film, Naga Vamsi discussed the possibility of remaking it with him. At first, Chandoo was worried that doing a remake might give him the image of being a “remake director.” He did not want his career to be known only for remaking other films.

Naga Vamsi, however, strongly believed that Chandoo was the right person for the project. He convinced him and explained why the film could work well in Telugu. Eventually, Chandoo agreed to take up the challenge.

The Telugu version of Premam was later made with Naga Chaitanya in the lead role and Chandoo Mondeti as the director. Naga Vamsi's efforts to bring the team together played an important role in making the project happen.
