Leading producer, Naga Vamsi has the habit of talking his heart out whenever he steps out in front of the media and discusses the scheme of things that are related to him. He did the same when he was asked to brief about the kind of box office returns that were recorded by Jersey and Guntur Kaaram.
These are the two films from Vamsi that have been projected as successful ventures, but doubts were raised about the actual cost to return ratios. In response to this question, Vamsi had a pretty straightforward reaction.
Vamsi stated that Guntur Kaaram is a very satisfactory film for him as a producer, and also his distributor and buyers. However, he genuinely added that the film underperformed in the Nizam region, which was understandable, considering that not every film can work wonders in every box office circuit.
About Jersey, Naga Vamsi said this film is about a cricketer and his struggle to the top. He stated that the film is a strong Multiplex film and caters only to a section of the audience. However, it punched above its weight and still generated adequate revenues.
And again, Vamsi revealed that this film was believed to have underperformed in the Rayalaseema region. He was very candid about his reaction when asked to comment about the actual returns of these films.
For now, Vamsi is closely, anticipating the release of Mad Square and Vijay Devarakonda’s Kingdom which is releasing on May 30.
