Sometimes, timing makes all the difference in movies, and Naga Vamsi knows it well. Mass Jathara, starring Ravi Teja in his 75th film, was originally set for August 27th. But with Junior NTR’s War 2 releasing on August 14th, Vamsi felt it wasn’t the right moment. He explained in a recent chat that social media was already buzzing with jokes and teasing about release dates, and he didn’t want Ravi Teja’s milestone to get overshadowed.
Vamsi added that launching Mass Jathara alongside another big film could have created unnecessary negativity. “If people were already teasing, another release at the same time would also catch that vibe. I didn’t like that,” he said. It was a careful move, not because of delays in production, but to make sure the movie got its deserved attention and excitement.
Directed by Bhanu Bhogavarapu, the film stars Sreeleela as the female lead. Vamsi mentioned that the team waited for a good window to make the most of the film’s release. The goal was simple, give fans a proper celebration for Ravi Teja’s landmark film without any distractions.
Now with the new release date set for October 31st, expectations are high. Fans are looking forward to Ravi Teja’s signature energy on screen, Sreeleela’s charm, and the fun Bhanu Bhogavarapu will bring. By choosing to delay, Vamsi ensured that Mass Jathara gets its moment in the spotlight, and Diwali moviegoers can enjoy a proper mass entertainer without clashes.
