The most-awaited mythical adventure and thriller Nagabandham has managed to achieve something few big-ticket films are unable to accomplish in the current market. The film has attracted exceptional interest from leading players, translating into a highly rewarding non-theatrical business much before its theatrical release. What’s more, the movie fetched its makers fancy rates for non-theatrical rights.
Amazon Prime Video has bagged the streaming rights, while Star Maa has acquired the Telugu satellite rights. Zee has taken charge of the television rights for Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions, underlining the film’s wide-reaching market appeal. Zee Studios will distribute the movie across North India and overseas territories.
What makes this feat particularly noteworthy is that the film is led by Virat Karrna, who is still at the beginning of his career. Yet, the project’s scale, the larger-than-life content, visual ambition, and strong creative confidence have convinced buyers to invest heavily in the film across languages.
Rather than depending solely on promotional hype, director Abhishek Nama reportedly gave prospective partners a glimpse of the film’s strengths firsthand. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with industry circles impressed by its expansive world-building, technical finesse, and the momentum generated by its promotional content.
For the makers, this is more than a business victory. It is a validation of their decision to mount the film on a grand canvas, backed by extensive VFX work, lavish production design, and a belief that scale and storytelling can still continue to fetch impressive business.
With the trade already placing its faith in the project, Nagabandham now heads toward its July 3 release carrying substantial prospects
