At the recent ANR National Award ceremony, Megastar Chiranjeevi received the prestigious award from the Akkineni family. The event was graced by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, who presented the award. Nagarjuna, a prominent actor and member of the Akkineni family, gave a touching speech about his long-standing friendship with Chiranjeevi.
Nagarjuna reflected on a significant moment from 1985 when he was considering a career in acting. He recalled visiting Annapurna Studios to watch Chiranjeevi dance for a film. Impressed by Chiranjeevi’s elegance and skill, Nagarjuna felt intimidated and worried about measuring up as a dancer. This experience made him rethink his own career choices.
Nagarjuna also shared a heartwarming story that showcased Chiranjeevi’s humility. A few years ago, when they were honoring Amitabh Bachchan with an award, Nagarjuna invited Chiranjeevi to the event. Due to protocol, he could not call Chiranjeevi on stage, but Chiranjeevi accepted the situation graciously and chose to sit in front of the stage. Later, he asked for permission to present Amitabh Bachchan with a shawl, demonstrating his respectful nature.
Nagarjuna concluded his speech by emphasizing the importance of giving back to society, a value instilled in him by his father. He highlighted that Chiranjeevi embodies this principle, making him a true inspiration in the film industry.
