Nag’s Judgement Went Completely Wrong?
However, the same type of judgement that the senior star had on the small-budget concept films didn’t pay off. Check this out.
Senior star hero Nagarjuna Akkineni has worked on Lenin for more than 6 months, and finally, when the film came out, his hard work bore fruit, and the film went on to become the first blockbuster ever in the career of his younger son, Akhil. However, the same type of judgement that the senior star had on the small-budget concept films didn’t pay off. Check this out.
Apparently, Nagarjuna invested a lot of time in the conceptual movie “Pallaburusu” (reads Toothbrush in English), a film about a father who is not even given a toothbrush by his son. The trailer sounded impressive as the father in the movie lodges a case against his son for not providing him even the necessities. However, the film that was released last week has failed to impress the audience.
With Nagarjuna promoting it big time, many thought that the movie might work out like Balagam or Raju Weds Rambai, but the film hasn’t worked out. There’s neither buzz nor any critical appreciation around the movie. Many are wondering why Nagarjuna failed to gauge the movie’s right potential and are also confused as to why he has pitted it against Suriya’s movie Viswanath & Sons, which also worked against the film’s chances.
Though these types of mismatched expectations are common in the film business, that coming from Nagarjuna has become a talking point now.
