Nagarjuna Asks Tollywood To Learn from Hollywood

Veteran actor Nagarjuna has shared an important message for the Telugu film industry. Speaking at the success meet of Akhil Akkineni's film Lenin, he said that Tollywood should improve its planning and stop depending on last-minute work before a movie's release.

Nagarjuna said many Telugu films are still being edited and finished until the very last day before release. According to him, this creates unnecessary pressure on directors, editors, and technicians. It can also affect the final quality of the movie. He believes that even a good film may lose its impact if post-production work is rushed.

He explained that producers also face financial losses because of delays and last-minute changes. If the film is not ready on time, the release date may have to be postponed. This increases costs and creates problems for everyone involved in the project.

During his speech, Nagarjuna praised the planning followed in Hollywood. He mentioned The Odyssey as an example. He said the film announced its release date almost one year in advance and was released on time with proper planning. He asked Tollywood filmmakers to learn from such a professional approach.

Nagarjuna also spoke about his own experience. He admitted that Lenin was delayed because the post-production work was not completed on schedule. The film, which was expected to release earlier, had to be postponed by two weeks. He openly accepted that mistakes happened on his side as well.

The actor recalled that during the making of films like Ninne Pelladata and Annamayya, the final copy used to be ready nearly a month before release. He wondered why today's filmmakers, despite having better technology, still struggle to finish movies on time.

Looking at producer Naga Vamsi during the event, Nagarjuna suggested that every film should have its final copy ready at least two weeks before its release. This would give enough time to fix technical issues and improve the overall quality of the movie.
