Versatile actor Nana Patekar has passed away today at the age of 75 on October 8, 2026, after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Dona Paula, Goa. The actor is known for roles in Ram Gopal Varma’s films like Ab Tak Chappan and Bhoot, while his recent films like Subedar, O’Romeo and Housefull 5 have worked out and got him name recognition too. But here is what is going viral about the late actor now.

In a recent interview, when asked about the properties he amassed, the actor said, “I’ll leave this physical world one day, and for my cremation I’ve stored 12 Manugus (480 Kgs) of dried wood. They are the only property I’ve. Bury me with those woods only. If you use some wet logs, then my relatives might get tears and people might think they have cried for me”. That was quite jokingly true, but then there is a lot of philosophy in his words. However, those words are right now going viral now.

While Bollywood is pouring tributes for Nana Patekar, the Maharashtra state is preparing to give him a state funeral in Pune, where his last rites will be performed by his son. Nana Patekar was born on January 1, 1951, and his extensive career in Hindi and Marathi cinema spanned nearly five decades, with more than 100 films to his credit.
