It is well known that the Telugu audience shower a lot of love towards Tamil heroes.
It is well known that the Telugu audience shower a lot of love towards Tamil heroes. But it is quite clear that the Tamil audience don't show the same kind of love towards Tollywood heroes for some reason. Barring films like 'Baahubali' and 'RRR', not many Telugu films did good business in Tamil Nadu. Many big stars dubbed and released their films in Tamil but they did not taste success.
But Nani created a decent following for himself in Tamil Nadu. He did a direct Tamil movie named 'Veppam' a few years back and impressed the Tamil audience with it. Rajamouli's 'Eega' which was released in Tamil became a good success too which increased his following. But Nani did not focus on the Tamil market after that. But he started to release his films in other languages recently.
His 'Dasara' and 'Hi Nanna' too released in Tamil but did not earn a lot. But Nani's recent outing 'Saripodhaa Sanivaaram' is getting much appreciation from the Tamil audience and reports suggest that it is racing to become a super hit. It is dubbed and released as 'Surya's Saturday' in Tamil. The Hindi and Kannada versions are not doing great business while the Telugu version is performing well in Karnataka.
The film is doing good business in Telugu states as we know and the collections are decent in Kerala. But the movie is getting a lot of love from Tamil Nadu. With Tamil actor SJ Suryah playing the villain role and Priyanka Mohan being the heroine, the movie generated good buzz before its release. Nani too promoted the film a lot and the reviews are very positive in Tamil compared to Telugu. The reviews on 'X' are quite positive as well.
The collections are quite good from the first day and the occupancy during the weekend is amazing as per trade reports. Apart from the Telugu version, the main contribution is coming from Tamil Nadu. Sources say that it grossed over 10 crores and it is great news for a Telugu film.
