The blockbuster film "Eega" redefined the boundaries of visual wonders in Tollywood, and director SS Rajamouli's ability to create box office hits with non-traditional protagonists was lauded. Recently, Nani, the star of the original film, discussed the possibility of an "Eega" sequel in an interview.
Nani shared a humorous anecdote about a conversation he had with Rajamouli regarding the sequel. He revealed that although he hadn't directly inquired about it from writer Vijayendra Prasad, he and Rajamouli had a playful discussion about the possibility. Rajamouli playfully suggested that a single fly would be sufficient to bring back the character in a sequel. Nani praised Rajamouli's courage and creativity in conceiving the original film and expressed his belief that the director would embark on the sequel when the right idea presented itself.
"Eega," starring Nani and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, was a massive commercial success, with Sudeep's villainous performance garnering significant praise. The film, released in 2012, won numerous awards, including 2 National Awards, 3 Saima Awards, and 5 South Filmfare Awards.
