PM Narendra Modi praises legend ANR's contribution

PM Narendra Modi in his year end Maan ki Baat remembered the great legends of Indian Cinema who completed their centenary anniversary in 2024 and their contribution. He remembered legendary actor ANR along with Raj Kapoor and Mohammad Rafi.

PM Narendra Modi said, "Akkineni Nageswara Rao garu with his contribution took Telugu Cinema to new heights. In his films, Indian culture, heritage and value system have been promoted and highlighted with great enthusiasm and honesty."

Celebrating ANR's Centenary anniversary Government of India released a special stamp and also screened his classics at IFFI, Goa. ANR family conducted a film carnival with classical films of ANR in different cities of India and conducted a grand event in his honor. At the event, on the hands of Amitabh Bachchan, they felicitated Megastar Chiranjeevi with prestigious ANR National Award for excellence in Cinema.

For his contributions, ANR has been honoured with Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri along with Dada Saheb Phalke Award, the highest honor for a film personality in Indian Cinema.
