Naveen Polishetty turned a regular promo into something a bit more fun by mixing cinema with a sport most people are still trying to understand, Pickleball. Sithara Entertainments hosted this quirky “Polishetty Meets Pickleball” event as part of the promotions for his movie Anaganaga Oka Raju, coming out this Sankranthi on January 14th. The whole idea felt a little odd but in a good way, and the video from the event already has people talking.
The minute he walked in, Naveen slipped into his usual joking mood. He said he had only just learned about the sport and casually dropped, “I just Googled it. ChatGPT said it’s rich people’s tennis,” which cracked up the room. After the laugh, he quickly nudged everyone toward the real reason he was there, “Our movie is coming on Jan 14… make it a hit,” he said, half serious, half playful. Naga Chaitanya, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Sushanth Anumolu, who run the Hyderabad Pickleball League, also helped push the buzz in their own way, giving the film another friendly boost before Sankranthi.
Naveen Polishetty didn’t stop there. He poked a bit more fun at the league, saying if Anaganaga Oka Raju becomes a blockbuster, he might just buy his own Pickleball team. He even came prepared with funny team names, Nallakonda Naughties and Chikkadpally Cheetahs. The owners and players didn’t seem to mind; they were laughing along, especially when he hyped up the Nallakonda Energy floating around.
The event wrapped up dancing with the first song from the film, Bhimavaram Balma. Before playing it, he gathered everyone like a coach calling for one last cheer. It was a lively closing, and honestly, the whole thing worked better than a regular press meet. The mix of Pickleball, jokes, and the new song made the promotions feel a lot more relaxed and memorable.
