Netflix Comes Up With A Gripping Thriller Drama Series!

While Netflix has been buying a lot of big films and crazy projects from Hindi, Telugu and other languages, their original content has been less than engaging lately. The last gripping series was the 'The Railway Men'. After a long time, Netflix has arrived with another thriller series with is engaging from start to the end.

It is none other than 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack' which showcased the intense hijack that happened in Indian history till date. It is quite intense and people who have watched it can't stop raving about it. Anubhav Sinha directed this series which portrayed the hijack of Flight IC 814 that happened from 24th December to 31st December 1999. The tension, drama and chaos are wonderfully showcased in this series.

The manner in which Indian authorities devise a plan to come out of this situation and the emotions running through the minds of passengers were showcased quite realistically. The series scored major points in dealing with political pressures and how media changes public perception and officials' negotiation with terrorists.

There is more emphasis on political and strategic issues from the outside in this series and the presence of experienced cast like Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, and Vijay Varma elevated the proceedings even more. While there were complaints on the lack of emotion in this series, people pointed out the underdevelopment of characters mainly passengers. Also, the effort to showcase the soft side of terrorists too drew a bit of criticism.

On the whole, 'IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack' does a good job despite the flaws. The series is surely a good watch for people who are interested in thrilling dramas this weekend.
