Buzz: New 150 Acre Film Studio Near Hyderabad

There’s one iconic Film Studio in the whole of India, and that’s none other than Ramoji Film City. Many times, people tried to build a similar studio in 150-200 acres across the world, but in the end, they have found out that it’s tough to come up with such plans. Though there are studios like Filmistan in Mumbai, they are relatively small, like Annapurna Studios, and there is no other competitor to RFC in the near.

Reports are now coming up that a big production house, which is making films in Telugu, Tamil and Bollywood as well, wants to expand into a studio setup too. They have already got their hands on production, then got into distribution and acquired lots of theatres to get into the exhibition sector. Now, they want to set up this studio near the Pedda Golconda area, which is again close to the Chilkur-Moinabad stretch, in almost 150 acres. Already, land is being acquired in this connection, they say.

Well, building something like Ramoji Film City is easy when there is land and money, but then, it’s making people of the industry believe that they could walk there empty-handed, with just a script and money, and come out with the final output that makes the final difference towards building a successful film studio. Hope this production house is catching that pulse and doing things accordingly.
