Nikhil’s much-awaited 20th film Swayambhu has quietly shifted from its earlier February 13 slot, even though the shoot was wrapped up already. The reason, however, is very much convincing.
The team is neck-deep in a massive VFX pipeline, with several top-tier Indian studios handling the CG load. With the visuals forming the spine of this period action saga, the makers realised that rushing the output would only dilute the cinematic impact they’ve promised. Choosing precision over pressure, they opted for a summer release.
The film is now set to hit theatres on April 10, positioning itself as a major holiday-season contender. While an official statement is awaited, the move is being seen as a calculated step to maximise both quality and box-office potential.
Directed by Bharat Krishnamachari and produced by Bhuvan and Sreekar under Pixel Studios, with Tagore Madhu presenting, Swayambhu stars Samyuktha and Nabha Natesh alongside Nikhil, who plays a warrior.
The Rise of Swayambhu video has already set expectations high.
