No Notable Releases This Weekend Barring A Few Re-Releases!

An array of films arrived on Independence Day which include 'Mr Bachchan', 'Thangalaan', 'Double Ismart' and 'Aay'. While some proved to be successful in theatres, the others failure to impress the audience. There are a bunch of releases this weekend too but none of those theatrical releases have managed to raise the buzz prior to their release.

Rao Ramesh's 'Maruthinagar Subramanyam' is releasing on 23rd August. Lakshman Karya is the director while Indraja, Ankith Koyya and others played key roles. The trailer looked impressive and Mythri Movie Makers are releasing this film in AP & Telangana areas despite zero buzz. After a successful 'Demonty Colony', the team are arriving with the second part. Arul Nidhi and Priya Bhavani Shankar are playing the main leads. People who love horror thrillers can watch it this weekend.

On the occasion of Megastar Chiranjeevi's birthday, the fans are getting ready to celebrate their hero's blockbuster hits 'Indra' and 'Shankar Dada MBBS'. They are what movie lovers are waiting to witness rather than the new releases. There are other flicks like 'Yagna' and 'Wedding Dairies' releasing at the same time too.

Coming to OTT platforms, the Hindi version of 'Kalki 2898 AD' is arriving on 22nd August in Netflix while Amazon Prime Video managed to get the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions. It is releasing on the 22nd as well. Netflix will also be streaming Dhanush's directorial 'Raayan' from the 23rd of this month. 'Abigail' which is an interesting thriller is going to come out on Jio Cinema from 26th August. Teen drama 'Incoming' is arriving on 23rd August on Netflix as well and it is original. It deals with crazy situations at a high school party.

'Angry Young Men' was released on 20th August on Prime Video and it is the story of noted writers Salim and Javed. 'Grrrrr' is another intriguing drama which is releasing on 20th August in Disney + Hotstar. It will be coming out in Malayalam and Telugu languages.
