Jr NTR has strongly criticized Telangana minister Konda Surekha for making baseless claims that linked Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) to the divorce of actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. The actor expressed his disapproval, stating that dragging personal matters into political discussions is both inappropriate and disappointing.

On Thursday, Jr NTR took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration. He remarked, “Konda Surekha garu, bringing personal lives into political debates is a new low. Public figures, especially those holding responsible positions, should respect privacy and dignity.” Jr NTR further emphasized that the film industry should not be unfairly targeted and urged for respect for personal boundaries.

This controversy arose when Surekha, a state Congress minister, made accusations that KTR was the reason behind Samantha and Naga Chaitanya's separation. She also claimed that the BRS party was responsible for pressuring female actresses in the Telugu industry to marry early and leave their careers.

Samantha, reacting to these comments, requested the minister to stop making unfounded statements about her private life. She clarified that her divorce was a mutual and amicable decision and that no political reasons were involved. Samantha urged that her name not be dragged into political conflicts.

Meanwhile, KTR responded by issuing a legal notice to Surekha, demanding a public apology within 24 hours. He denied all allegations and stated that the minister's remarks were defamatory. If she failed to apologize, KTR warned of legal consequences, including defamation and criminal charges.
