Jr NTR vs Thalapathy Vijay vs Nani This Time

This week is turning into an interesting box office battle involving Jr NTR, Thalapathy Vijay and Nani. The October 2 holiday weekend is very important for several films. With Friday falling on October 2, followed by Saturday and Sunday, the three day weekend can decide the early fate of many releases.

Nani’s The Paradise is already running in theatres. The coming weekend is especially important for the film because it needs strong collections to move closer to its break even target. With several new movies arriving, the film will have to hold its screens and bring more audiences to theatres.

The biggest challenge for Nani comes from Fahadh Faasil’s Don’t Trouble the Trouble. The film is releasing during the same weekend and could attract a different section of the audience. At present, the movie may not have extremely high expectations. However recent pre release event changed the situation to some extent.

Jr NTR attended the event as the chief guest and spoke warmly about the film and its producer SS Karthikeya. NTR described Karthikeya like his own brother and spoke about the movie with great affection. His words created more attention around the film and made NTR fans to feel the movie as their own movie. This could help the movie get more curiosity during the holiday weekend.

At the same time, another interesting point is Thalapathy Vijay’s connection to the weekend releases. His son Jason Sanjay is making his directorial debut with Sigma starring Sundeep Kishan. The film reportedly revolves around a heist story and is targeting young audiences. Vijay’s name naturally creates interest in Tamil Nadu while the Telugu market will depend more on Sundeep Kishan’s appeal and the film’s content.

There are also smaller releases entering theatres during the holiday period. Dhorathi, starring Keerthy Suresh, is another film looking to attract audiences with its different content.
