Ahead of 'Mangalavaaram' hitting the screens on November 17 in multiple languages, Payal Rajput says that the character was so absorbing that she couldn't outgrow Shailu (her name in the thriller) for days after the conclusion of the shoot.

"Everything was so measured. Even if I was giving a smile, director Ajay Bhupathi would ask me not to smile when not necessary. He is one director I totally trust. I completely surrender to his vision. I was roped in after some 30-35 artists were auditioned," Payal says.

The 'RX 100' actress adds, "I learned that he was auditioning fresh faces. I wondered why I was not being considered. I asked him to consider me if he was looking for a known actress. Eventually, he offered me the character because of his belief that I could do it."

She will be seen with tanned make-up in the village-based mystery thriller. "It took a complete village to do this hair and make-up. We did a couple of look tests. Everything was not hunky dory. I fought with my destiny to prove my talent again. I wanted a hit so that my talent gets acknowledged," Payal adds.

The film, whose music is by Ajaneesh B Loknath of 'Kantara' fame, is produced by Swathi Reddy Gunupati and Suresh Varma M of Mudhra Media Works.
