Mega star Ram Charan’s Peddi was all set. Songs clicked, expectations peaked, and April 30 looked like almost locked. Even the star hero was keen on sticking to that date too, and confirmed the same during Rakasa promotions. But in the end, the film gave up. And the main reason? AR Rahman, is what the insiders say now.

Of course, the Oscar-winning composer is yet to complete the background score, especially for the second half of this Buchi Babu Sana directorial. While the first half is done a month ago and has come out really well, the remaining portion is still in progress. Rahman isn’t someone who works in bits and pieces. He prefers a complete, locked edit before starting the scoring process. Instead of composing for individual scenes while the film is still being shaped, he wanted the entire second half ready in one go. For that reason, as Buchi Babu gave the second half last week, Rahman is said to have asked for more time, at least a month, to wrap the work.

In fact, director Buchi Babu was still shooting till the end of March, and that’s the biggest problem. With a release planned for March 27th earlier, the movies should have been wrapped almost two months ago. Even now, an item number is yet to be filmed, and the makers are looking forward to the right actress to sizzle opposite Charan, while the likes of Mrunal Thakur and Manasa Varansi are ruled out. Hope, the film completes all the formalities and releases in June 2026 at least.
