The hype surrounding Global Star Ram Charna’s Peddi is no longer being driven only by fans. What is making the industry sit up and take notice are the statements coming from the people who actually worked on the film. As the film is getting ready to hit cinemas on June 4th, if we look at the statements given by tehse actors and technicains so far, it looks like we are likely to watch an epic on the screens.
Over the last few weeks, key members associated with Peddi have been making massive claims about the film. And interestingly, none of them sound like routine promotional statements. Ram Charan himself described Peddi as the best film of his career. That is no small statement considering the actor’s filmography includes blockbusters like Magadheera, Rangasthalam and RRR, which are bigger and greater.
Former hero Jagapathi Babu added even more fuel to the excitement. According to him, Peddi stands at the top of all the films he has done so far, in his hugely successful second innings. That is a powerful statement from an actor who reinvented himself with memorable performances in the recent times.
Then came production designer Avinash Kolla, who ranked Peddi as the number one film of his career. This is a technician who has worked on several acclaimed projects and knows exactly what goes into building a cinematic world. And now cinematographer Rathnavelu has also called Peddi as the finest works of his career. Coming from a technician who has delivered visual spectacles for some of Indian cinema’s biggest films, that endorsement carries huge respect.
Generally such statements coming from the movie team can be dismissed as promotional stuff, here when the likes of Ram Charan, Jagapathi Babu, Avinash Kolla, and Rathnavelu are speaking in the same language, surely we cannot ignore it. Are we finally seated for the long-awaited out-and-out blockbuster? The answer may arrive on the release day itself.
