Peddi: Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor Movie Creates ₹130 Crore Wave

Global superstar Ram Charan and Bollywood’s glamorous Janhvi Kapoor are set to star in their upcoming sports drama movie called Peddi. Even before its official release, the film is creating a lot of buzz thanks to some early glimpses.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film is planned to hit theaters on March 27, 2026. There are reports that the digital rights have already been sold for 130 crore rupees, and there could be an additional 20 crore if the movie performs well at the box office. Even though these numbers haven’t been officially confirmed yet, fans are really excited and curious about which OTT platform will stream the movie.

Peddi is a sports action film that centers around a village cricket competition. Ram Charan is expected to play a new kind of role for him, with a different style and accent compared to his past films. Cinematographer Rathnavelu mentioned that almost half of the movie has already been shot. Janhvi Kapoor plays the main female lead, and she is supported by actors like Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu, and Jagapathi Babu. Recently, Ram Charan shared a teaser with AR Rahman, which gave a hint about the first song, building more excitement around the film.

For Ram Charan, Peddi is coming after his political action movie Game Changer, where he played an IAS officer fighting against corruption. He also has other projects in the works, including one with director Sukumar (RC17) and possibly another film under producer Naga Vamsi’s projects. These projects show that he is trying out different roles and genres.

Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in Param Sundari, a romantic comedy with Sidharth Malhotra. The movie received mixed reactions, with some people criticizing the way Kerala was portrayed. Peddi gives her a new role in a sports action setting, allowing fans to see her in a different kind of story. With all the pre-release buzz and a big OTT deal, Peddi is becoming one of the most talked-about movies of 2026.
