So, what’s the status of Prabhas' latest release, “The Raja Saab” now?;
Sometimes, big-budget big-star movies get grand openings, and that’s what they call ‘Stardom’. Owing to a franchisee power, or star power, or the director’s ability to market the film well, the likes of Pushpa 2 (₹270+ Cr Gross Opening Day), RRR (₹223+ cr Gross), Baahubali 2 (₹217 Cr Gross) and Kalki 2898 AD (₹177+ Cr Gross) on their Opening Day from across all the languages. So, what’s the status of Prabhas' latest release, “The Raja Saab” now?
Producer TG Vishwa Prasad, who bankrolled The Raja Saab, has stated that the film would easily score a ₹100 crore ‘share’ Opening Day (read ₹180+ crores gross) on its Day of release on January 9th. He added that the film’s grand vision, VFX, Prabhas’ towering presence, and Maruthi’s amazing horror fantasy narrative will come together to give a solid opening.
Apart from 1500+ screens in Telugu states, Raja Saab is releasing in more than 4500 screens in North India, around 200-300 screens in Tamil Nadu, despite competition from more than 11 films across the country on the Sankranthi eve. With ticket prices hiked in Andhra Pradesh, and the Telangana government likely to approve the same, the Opening Day in the Telugu states itself will be a stunner of sorts.
Though there is hefty competition earlier from films like Jana Nayagan in Tamil Nadu, all that has now gone with Vijay’s film getting postponed. So that might give an extra edge to Raja Saab in the neighbouring state too. Let’s see how much Raja Saab could really amass.
