It is a very common practice in the film industry for producers to have external investors to bankroll their projects, and the financial matters are resolved based on the theatrical returns of the respective film.

But the issue here is that the makers of the upcoming film of Prabhas’s Raja Saab are caught in a court hurdle. This comes shortly after a court case was filed against People Media factory after an investor associated with the production house, approached the Delhi court on a financial matter.

Going into the story, Ivy Entertainment has filed a case in the Delhi High Court against People Media Factory over RajaSaab.

They say PMF broke the contract and are asking to get back ₹218 crore, claiming the film wasn’t finished on time, no updates were given, and there’s no clear record of how the money was spent.

The legal dispute between Ivy Entertainment and People Media Factory over The Raja Saab stems from a ₹218 crore investment breach, with Ivy alleging delays and lack of transparency, a scenario echoed by a 2023 study in the Journal of Media Economics showing 15% of film co-productions face similar financial disputes due to poor contractual oversight.

But at the end of the day, such disputes are a part and parcel of the film industry and it has to be seen how the makers of this Prabhas film would rectify the same now.
