'Kalki' Ends Up As The Biggest Hit Of Bollywood In 2024!

Pan-Indian films from the South have been taking over the record books in the past couple of years. It all started with 'Baahubali' movie series and it is not going to stop anytime soon. While the worldwide collections are already too high, the collections for the Hindi dubbed versions are far bigger than original Hindi films. 'Baahubali 2' Hindi version earned more than 550 crores making it the highest collecting film in Bollywood.

No big star is able to beat this record even today. Films like 'KGF 2' got more than 400 crores while 'Pushpa' collected over 100 crores with 50% occupancy and lockdown in the North. These are just a few examples as 'RRR' got over 200 crores from the Hindi market while films like 'Kantara' and 'Karthikeya 2' did great business as well. Prabhas' films always do well in the Hindi belt and 'Salaar' minted more than 150 crores despite competing with 'Dunki'.

Now, 'Kalki 2898 AD' featuring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in the lead roles has minted over 219 crores nett in Hindi. It surpassed the collections of 'Fighter' which was released earlier this year. After beating Hrithik, Prabhas' film becomes the highest grosser of Bollywood in 2024. This goes on to show the dominance of South films lately. With movies like 'Devara' and 'Pushpa 2' releasing this year, Bollywood is expected to take a step back as they were in the driving seat last year with hits like 'Pathaan', 'Jawan' and 'Gaddar 2'.
