Director Prashanth Neel says Dragon will be the final film in his trilogy of dark hero stories. During an interview, he compared NTR’s character Luger with Rocky from KGF and Deva from Salaar.

According to Neel, all three characters may look similar from outside because of the dark visuals and action-heavy worlds, but emotionally they are completely different.

The director said each hero has different reasons for becoming dangerous and morally grey characters. He stressed that drama and emotional justification are the most important parts of his writing.

Prashanth Neel also reacted to criticism that his films look repetitive. He confidently said the emotions and character journeys in all three films are very different from one another.

He revealed that Dragon will probably be the last time he explores this kind of dark action genre. According to him, he always wanted to tell these three stories set around post-independence India.

Neel explained that he finds the period after Indian independence extremely fascinating because the country was changing rapidly during that time. He believes many powerful stories could emerge from that historical backdrop.

Another interesting point from the interview was about cinematic universes. Fans have often wondered whether KGF, Salaar, and Dragon exist in the same universe.

However, Neel said he never planned such a universe from the beginning. He admitted that crossovers are interesting, but he does not want to force them without proper drama and emotional connection.

The director also joked that cinematic universes are often made mainly for money. He said if he ever creates one, it should happen naturally through the story.
