Ace director Prashanth Neel, who has impressed the whole of India with the KGF franchise first, and then Salaar later, is carving out Dragon with Jr NTR now. The shoot of his film has hit another pause recently, with the official version being about look changes, scale adjustments, and planning bigger action blocks. Reports say the team took a break to alter NTR’s physical transformation and overall presentation. So what’s the director doing in this gap?

It’s coming out that during this break, Prashanth Neel is reportedly sitting with his writers and working on Salaar 2. Well, this is the sequel of the Prabhas starrer Salaar that released in 2024, and despite mixed talk, scored huge at the box office. Neel’s plan is said to be very clear. Finish the writing, lock the world, and get Superstar Prabhas back on the set of “Shouryanga Parvam” by the end of this year. That’s where things get interesting, but debatable.

Dragon itself is not a small film. There are talks of it being expanded into a two-part film because of its scale and layered narrative. Add to that casting changes like the exit of Tovino Thomas and searching for other stars, which are causing delays and speculation. Now that Neel is trying to balance two large universes at the same time, many are wondering if he can do justice to his work.

That said, Salaar 2 isn’t just a sequel, but a continuation of a world that already worked big at the box office and has a strong fan base.
