When Pushpa first released, it changed many things in Indian cinema. The film starring Allu Arjun became a big success across India. Its raw style, strong character and famous dialogues made it very popular. Later Pushpa 2: The Rule also created huge expectations and collected massive money at the box office.

For some time, many people believed that Pushpa 2 would remain one of the top Indian films for a long period. It looked like no other movie could easily cross its collections. However things have now changed. Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has surprised everyone by beating Pushpa 2 collections and entering the top ranks of Indian cinema.

At present, Dangal still holds the number one position, followed by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Dhurandhar has now joined this list pushing Pushpa 2 to a lower position. This clearly shows that records in cinema are not permanent. New films can always come and break old records.

One interesting point is that Dhurandhar is not a typical commercial film. It is a spy drama without heavy fantasy or big visual effects. Still, it connected strongly with audiences. This shows that content and storytelling are becoming more important than just big action or star power.

In comparison, Pushpa 2 had strong openings but later saw a drop in collections during weekdays. Reasons like IPL matches, summer heat, and less repeat value affected its performance. Even though it is still a big success, it could not maintain the same long run as expected.

Now big question is whether Dhurandhar can reach the 2000 crore mark. Some international restrictions have slowed it down, but it is still performing well.

In the end, Pushpa will always be remembered as a path breaking film. But in cinema, success keeps changing. What was once unbeatable can soon be replaced by something new.
