Can Pushpa 2 Beat Baahubli 2 On This Count?

Pushpa 2 is being projected as the next big thing in Indian cinema and it is set to arrive at the box office in under a week from now. As the film heads for its release soon, there is an interesting buzz going on about the theatrical screen count of the Allu Arjun starrer.

Coming to the topic, a massive theatrical release is now being planned for Pushpa 2 as Mythri Movie Makers are looking to secure as many theaters as they can for the rugged actioner.

While there are 9200 screens in India, Pushpa 2 is bracing for release in 8500 screens across the country. While the target is to reach 12000 screens globally, there is a target to release in 8500 screens in India alone.

As for Baahubali 2, this film released in a whopping 9000 screens in India which is the biggest record till date. At that time, there were 9500 theaters in India and Baahubali released in nearly 95% of them.

So statistically speaking, it is nearly impossible for Pushpa 2 to beat the tally of Baahubali 2 in terms of screen count. Baahubali 2 was a rage then and all of India was vibing to it. Emulating something like this now with other films is not possible.

But in terms of openings, Pushpa 2 can come a long way and easily break the opening day tally of Baahubali 2. This is due to the elevated ticket pricing model that is in effect.
