PVR Inox has launched an innovative billing system called the "Pay for What You Watch Model" or FLEXI Show. This concept allows moviegoers to leave the theater anytime during the film and pay only for the portion they watched.

According to Renaud Palliere, CEO of PVR Inox's luxury division, this model aims to enhance the audience's experience by offering more flexibility. Available in select cinemas in Delhi NCR and Gurugram, FLEXI Show is currently in the pilot phase. Customers opting for this feature pay a 10% premium on the ticket price.

The system uses AI-powered video analytics to monitor audience presence. It tracks when a viewer enters and exits, calculating refunds based on predefined brackets. For instance, leaving with 50% of the movie remaining results in a 50% refund, while leaving after watching less than 50% offers a 60% refund.

Palliere believes this initiative will attract a broader audience and encourage repeat visits by giving viewers the freedom to enjoy movies on their terms. The company plans to expand this feature in Tier I cities.

PVR Inox is also focusing on premium cinema formats, including 4DX, IMAX, and ICE, to cater to audiences seeking immersive experiences. Recent releases like Venom: The Last Dance, Gladiator 2, and Moana 2 highlight the growing demand for such formats. One anticipated release is Mufasa: The Lion King, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and his sons in the Hindi version.

Premium format screens currently contribute 15% of PVR Inox's total revenue. The company plans to add 14 more premium screens across seven locations this fiscal year, especially in regions like Bengaluru, where demand for advanced technologies is high.

With 300 premium screens out of its 1,747 total, PVR Inox is committed to enhancing the cinema experience for its audience.
