Raashi Khanna, fresh off promoting her film 120 Bahadur, is speaking her mind again about female roles in movies. She says Tollywood mainly gives her commercial projects, while Bollywood seems to offer concept-driven films. 120 Bahadur didn’t do well at the box office, but Raashi isn’t holding back, she’s open about the ups and downs of her career.

“I’ve kind of stopped worrying about success or failure,” Raashi said in a recent interview. In 120 Bahadur, she played Major Shaitan Singh’s wife and drew praise for her performance. She’s juggling several films right now, like Ustad Bhagat Singh and Bridge. Raashi admits her career has been full of surprises. Sometimes a hit film doesn’t automatically bring more offers, and sometimes a flop opens doors she didn’t expect. “It’s confusing, honestly, but I’m learning to roll with it,” she added.

Raashi didn’t hold back on female roles in films either. “Women have been treated like props in movies for ages. That’s true everywhere, not just in South films. Bollywood is no different. It really depends on the actor, some are fine with it, some aren’t. I just think things need to change,” she said. Her hope is that the industry will start giving women roles that actually matter, not just decorative parts.
