Akkineni Nagarjuna is a pioneer in introducing innovation into Telugu and Indian Cinema. Carrying forward the legacy of his father, legendary actor ANR, he made it his mission to make iconic Annapurna Studios, a state-of-art facility for cinema. Now, the studio has launched India’s first Dolby certified postproduction facility for cinema & home.

In association with Dolby, the Annapurna Studios has built this postproduction facility to improve the audio-visual standards of Indian Filmmaking to global level. SS Rajamouli has inaugurated this facility in the presence of Nagarjuna, Vice Chairman and Supriya Yarlagadda, Executive Director of Annapurna Studios.

Interestingly, SS Rajamouli's RRR has been the first Indian Cinema to be played in Dolby Cinema and at the event, few scenes from the movie have been screened in Dobly Atmos and Dolby Vision. Rajamouli praised Nagarjuna and Akkineni family's dedication to take Indian Cinema to global level with such state-of-art facilities.

He further said, "Experiencing a film in Dolby Vision enhances your viewing experience. I was disheartened to know that there is no proper Dolby Vision grading facility in India and had travel to Germany for RRR. Now, we can do it in India itself and I'm happy that for my next I can do it in our Hyderabad and Dolby Cinema has come to India."

Speaking at the event, Nagarjuna Akkineni talked about how Annapurna Studios will always be a pioneer in bringing innovation to Indian Cinema and stated that celebrating 50th anniversary, the Studios has taken a great step forward.

He said, "From being a pioneer in virtual production to now housing the country’s first Dolby Certified Postproduction Facility for Cinema & Home, the attempt has always been to put Indian films on the map. As Annapurna Studios celebrates its 50th year, this collaboration with Dolby is a testament to that vision. At Annapurna, our legacy has been to embrace change and innovation, and this is another step forward in that journey."
