Varanasi No Limits: No One Can Ask Rajamouli!

There is no repeating the fact that Rajamouli is the biggest commercial film maker in Indian cinema at this moment. There is no one that can come even close to Rajamouli in terms of refined cinema making.

Rajamouli’s upcoming magnum opus Varanasi continues to attract attention for its scale and ambition. Unlike most big budget films where producers lock a fixed financial limit, Rajamouli has reportedly chosen a different approach for this project.

He has not imposed any strict budget cap and has instead asked the producers to focus purely on delivering the best possible cinematic experience. The idea is simple. Whatever is required to bring his vision to life will be provided without compromise.

Varanasi stars Mahesh Babu in the lead role and marks his first collaboration with the ace director. The film also features an impressive ensemble cast including Priyanka Chopra, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Prakash Raj, adding strong national and international appeal.

Designed as a large scale action drama with mythological and emotional layers, the film is being planned for a wide global release in multiple languages. Interestingly, Rajamouli is said to be following his usual working style by opting for profit sharing instead of taking a hefty upfront remuneration.

This strategy allows the production team to channel more resources into visuals, production design and action sequences. The makers are confident of recovering the investment through pre release business itself. The film is expected to complete shooting by 2026 and hit theatres in 2027, setting new benchmarks for Indian cinema.
