A couple of days ago, something extremely unfortunate and untoward happened at the pre-release promotional event of Robin Hood, which had international cricketer David Warner as the special guest. Senior actor, Rajendra Prasad, did something unwanted on stage while speaking about David Warner.

After the senior actor commented that Warner is not just a cricketer and a lot more than that, and further used a cuss word “Mun*a”, there was a lot of negative reaction. Many people felt that it wasn’t right on the part of the senior actor to humiliate Warner, who does not even understand Telugu and is a guest of our homeland. There were several comments that the production house must make the senior director apologise to Warner.

In this context, some corrective measures were taken and senior actor Rajendra Prasad issued an official clarification on this matter and he apologised to David Warner.

Rajendra Prasad said he was not have used such a word against Warner and went on to the brief about what had happened earlier. “Even before the event, I sat down with David Warner, along with the rest of the members of the cast and crew. I asked Warner to perform an acting stint in front of me, and he finally asked me to play a game of cricketer in front of him. We had a fun interaction. But what was said on stage at the event should have been avoided, and I apologise to Warner for that.” He stated.

This was an act of dignity and integrity by the senior actor Rajendra Prasad, as he apologised to warn and also clarified on what had happened prior to that. Nevertheless, it is good that the senior set aside his ego and did the needful.
