Rajinikanth Kamal Haasan Reunite After 46 Years As Ageing Gangsters

When two giants of Tamil cinema walk into the same frame after four decades, it is no less than a festival. Superstar Rajinikanth and Legendary Kamal Haasan, who once stormed the silver screen together in the 70s and 80s, are now all set to share screen space again. The two legends were introduced by the same mentor, K. Balachander, and together they gave more than 15 memorable films. But since 1985, their fans have been waiting for a reunion that seemed almost impossible. Now, after 46 long years, the moment appears closer than ever.

The buzz is that Lokesh Kanagaraj, the most sought-after director of this generation, is planning to bring them back as ageing gangsters in a high-voltage multi-starrer. Rajini already shook the box office with Coolie, while Kamal roared back with Vikram after a long break. Though Kamal tasted flops in between, Kalki reminded everyone that the actor in him is still fire. Pairing him again with Rajini is a gamble only Lokesh can dare to pull off.

Interestingly, this project might be backed by both Raj Kamal Films and Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies. A combination like this not only promises star power but also political flavour, since Kamal is a Rajya Sabha MP today. Fans are already spinning theories that this film could be bigger than Baahubali in terms of hype. But as of now, there is no official confirmation, only heavy whispers in the industry.
