The most successful story on this matter came in the form of Thalapathy Vijay, who went from being a cinema star to the chief minister of Tamil Nadu in just a few months.

Yesterday, Rajinikanth was asked to comment on the prospect of Vijay being the new chief minister of Tamil Nadu and he did not reply a single word as he laughed and went away. He had a very dismissive reaction to this question, which is rather interesting.

Today, Kamal Haasan was asking about Vijay being the new chief minister and he had a bit more elaborate answer to the same.

Kamal said it is not right to label Vijay just as an actor as he might have other responsibilities and aspirations as well. He commented that he feels proud to see Vijay, who is from the film industry to show remarkably well in politics, as he sounded confident about Vijay being an effective man for the job.

While Rajinikanth was very dismissive of Vijay and his political career, it is interesting to note that Kamal Haasan was more welcoming and warm towards the same.
