Like a tempestuous sea, "Vettaiyan" has faced turbulent waters at the box office. Despite its star-studded cast and high production values, the film has struggled to recoup its massive budget.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, "Vettaiyan" was produced on a staggering 300 crore budget, inflated further by the additions of Fahadh Faasil and Amitabh Bachchan. In its initial eight days, the film managed to gross 123.68 crores across languages in India. However, a drastic 70% drop on Monday and subsequent declines have pushed its daily collections to a mere 2.30-2.45 crores.

Lyca Productions, the production house behind "Vettaiyan," has a history of financial setbacks with Rajinikanth films like "2.0," "Lal Salaam," and "Darbar." They had pinned their hopes on "Vettaiyan" to turn the tide, but the film's performance has fallen short.

To mitigate the losses, Lyca Productions has reportedly approached Rajinikanth, requesting his assistance. The superstar may agree to star in another film for the production house at a reduced salary. However, whether he will accept this proposal remains uncertain.

"Vettaiyan" also features a talented ensemble cast, including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and others. Despite their efforts, the film has failed to capture the audience's imagination in the same way as its predecessors.

As the box office storm continues to rage, the fate of "Vettaiyan" hangs in the balance. Will Rajinikanth come to the rescue, or will the film's financial losses leave a lasting impact on the production house? Only time will tell.
