Every promo of Peddi has been landing well so far, with Ram Charan using different shots to hit the ball as he plays cricket. But the latest glimpse changed the entire perception. Till now, many assumed Ram Charan would be playing a cricketer in the film, but that’s only part of the film, as he would be seen in a full-fledged wrestler avatar throughout the second half of the movie.

And this isn’t that regular “get fit for a role” transformation, but actually takes months to look like a wrestler and do wrestling for real. As revealed in his Esquire interview, Charan trained under a national-level wrestling coach, the same expert who worked on films like Sultan and Dangal. He spent close to five months preparing for this portion, and that’s not easy. Charan himself admitted that the training pushed him to a breaking point. At one stage, he even joked to the coach, “Sirji, I’m not preparing for wrestling nationals.” That says a lot about the intensity involved.

But that effort is clearly visible now. And more importantly, Charan says this episode will stand out in the film. Beyond cinema, the same interview gave a glimpse into his personal side too. Charan spoke about being a father of two kids and how seriously he takes that responsibility. He mentioned that he doesn’t want his kids to grow up as rich kids who are disconnected from reality. He prefers being a strict father, such that they understand the value of effort, courage, and discipline.
