Ram Charan’s Peddi Scores Massive Digital Rights Deal

Tollywood has seen many films struggle to secure OTT deals, especially after movies like Raj Tarun’s Panch Minar went online just seven days after release. But for global star Ram Charan, things are looking very different. His upcoming sports drama Peddi is already creating waves even before hitting theaters.
Peddi is directed by Buchi Babu and produced by Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, in association with Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. Ram Charan plays the lead role, and Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor stars opposite him. The film, with a grand sports theme, has generated excitement since its first glimpses were released. It is scheduled to be released worldwide on March 27 next year.
The makers have already locked the digital streaming rights for a whopping Rs. 130 crores, covering all language versions. Industry insiders say this huge pre-release deal shows the craze for the movie. Music and satellite rights have also been sold at a good price, meaning the producers have already secured a major profit even before the theatrical release.
The second song is set to be shot at Rajamouli Film City, featuring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. After Chikiri Chikiri's 100 crores milestone on YouTube, fans are too thrilled for the second single.
