Megastar Ram Charan’s upcoming pan-India film Peddi is already one of the most awaited movies of the year.
Megastar Ram Charan’s upcoming pan-India film Peddi is already one of the most awaited movies of the year. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film is set for a grand worldwide release on June 4. Ahead of its release, the Andhra Pradesh government has given a major boost to the movie by approving special premier shows and allowing an increase in ticket prices.
According to the latest government orders, special premier shows of Peddi can begin from 8 PM on June 3, one day before the official release. The ticket price for these premier shows has been fixed at Rs. 600, including GST.
In recent years, tickets for premier shows of big-budget films have often been sold at very high prices, sometimes crossing Rs. 1,000. Compared to that, the pricing for Peddi is considered more affordable. Many fans have welcomed the move, saying it gives them a chance to enjoy the movie without spending too much.
The Andhra Pradesh government has also allowed theatres to increase ticket prices for one week starting from June 4. Single-screen theatres can charge an additional Rs. 100 per ticket, while multiplexes can increase prices by up to Rs. 125. Along with this, theatres have received permission to screen five shows per day. This is expected to help the film achieve strong box-office collections during its opening week.
Peddi is said to be set in rural Andhra Pradesh during the 1980s. The story reportedly follows a young man who brings his village together through sports and fights to protect its honor and pride.
Ram Charan plays the lead role, while Janhvi Kapoor stars as the female lead. The movie also features Shivrajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani in important roles. Music is composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman, and the film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
