Transformations in cinema are common now. But every once in a while, one stands out for the process behind it. That’s what’s coming out about RRR star Ram Charan’s preparation for Peddi. This isn’t just about getting “fit” or adding muscle. For a desi wrestler’s role written by Buchi Babu Sana, the hero reportedly followed a tightly controlled routine that balanced strength, skill, and injury prevention. Here comes his coach, Rakesh Udayar, who revealed the facts and truths behind his chiselled look.

Coached by Rakesh Udayar, Charan didn’t stick to a standard gym routine. The week was broken down into three days of weight training, one day dedicated to wrestling drills, and another focused on traditional mace (gadha) workouts. Coming to his diet, it was structured around carb cycling, keeping his daily intake between 1800 and 2000 calories. Not extreme. Not flashy. Just disciplined. Instead of building a “hero body,” the focus was on building a functional body, which is what Rakesh says.

Well, from the moment Charan’s wrestling look came out through a special glimpse, people just went mad for the kind of dedication he has shown for the role. However, many are wondering how the mega hero would have coped with injuries while doing all these workouts. To support that, daily physiotherapy and joint care became part of the routine for him. With all this happening, surely his every move and act sounds like a real wrestler, doesn’t it?

With Peddi aiming for a June 24 release, and the item song shoot underway, surely fans can expect more of this menacing avatar from Ram Charan taking over the tinsel town.
